About Boswellia sacra Frankincense Essential Oil
Our genuine Omani sourced and produced Frankincense Essential Oil is hydro-distilled from the resinous dried sap of Boswellia sacra trees found in the Salalah Mountains of Oman. This region is known for producing premium quality Frankincense resins which are particularly high in boswellic acids and alpha-pinene. Sustainable and fully traceable, our essential oil is widely used in aromatheapy and perfumery.
 
A recent GCMS test of our essential oil showed that its major consituents were:

  • alpha-pinene (63%)
  • d-limonene (8%)
  • beta-myrcene (6%)
  • sabinene (4%)
  • beta-pinene (2%)
  • camphene (2%)

There have been a number of studies published focused on the therapeutic benefits of Boswellia sacra Frankincense Essential Oil and its boswellic acids:
 
  1. Management of basal cell carcinoma of the skin (through sun exposure) using frankincense (Boswellia sacra) essential oil: a case report
  2. Frankincense essential oil suppresses melanoma cancer through down regulation of Bcl-2/Bax cascade signaling and ameliorates hepatotoxicity via phase I and II drug metabolizing enzymes.
  3. Boswellia sacra essential oil induces tumor cell-specific apoptosis and suppresses tumor aggressiveness in cultured human breast cancer cells
